Dorít Elena K. is a multi-genre performer, and culture bearer of music, theater, and dance. She is also an award winner of original music and dance. Coming from a multi-cultural family, and being immersed in the music and languages of many countries, Dorít naturally gravitated towards art forms that combined elements of language, rhythms, and stories from around the world.

Dorít has performed regularly with Middle Eastern, Greek, and Turkish bands as a singer, dancer, and musician.
She has also performed at the International Ladino Day Festival (Judeo-Spanish) in South Florida, and will be performing this May in the Greek Jewish Festival of the Lower East Side which is a full day outdoor festival accessible to all New Yorkers. She is also a session singer and an award winning singer-songwriter in the pop/rock genre.

As an actor Dorít recently performed at the National Opera Center in Ismail Butera’s “Echoes of Antiquity” bringing to life the stories of ancient Egyptian mythologies. She is currently in rehearsals for “Porphyra” a Greek rock opera based on Byzantine epics. These shows are brought to schools, cultural centers, libraries, and theatres, making the art accessible to all. In addition to these shows, Dorit is a new member of “Amnesia Wars,” which is a diverse and inclusive collective of NY theater artists committed to producing poignant and exciting improvisational performances at venues and festivals here and worldwide.

In addition to performing, Dorít has taught hundreds of students over the years as a master teacher of dance and rhythms of the Middle East and North Africa. She has been invited to cultural centers, universities, dance studios, and has also taught donation based classes online during the pandemic.
Also during the pandemic, Dorit performed with a collective of singer-songwriters online to raise money for various charities such as Urban Resource Institute, and Safe Horizon.

And if there come the singers and the dancers and the flute players, buy of their gifts also. For they too are gatherers of fruit and frankincense, and that which they bring, though fashioned of dreams, is raiment and food for your soul.
