Dorit is a multi-genre award winning performer of music, dance, and theatre. Dubbed as the Jimi Hendrix of Middle Eastern dance in New York, and "animal da palcoscenico" in Milan, she launched her dance career at the legendary Ibis Supper Club in New York City. She has had the honor of being extended an invitation to perform at the White House, and has performed at the United Nations, various consulates, and cultural events around the world. She has danced in front of such global celebrity clients such as Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, Hakim, Khaled, Tommy Lee, Alabina, Harvey Keitel, Juliana Margulies, Sam Waterston, and Elijah Wood.
In addition to this, her award-winning career as a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has taken her on stages of South by Southwest, Dewey Beach Music Festival, Nerfa, Chicago World Music Festival, Make Music New York, and the infamous Antifolk Festival in NYC. As the recipient of a 2012 Guitar Center Scholarship, Dorit was invited to attend Laura Whitmore's first Womens' Music Summit. As a result she was asked to be one of the music leaders in Guitar Mass Appeal for Make Music New York, and became a contributor for Acoustic Nation Online.
Dorit has trained in theater and musical theater at the Susan Batson Studios, HB Studios, UCB, the PIT, and with Marishka Phillips, and Richard Kline. In addition to appearances on MTV, ESPN, and Telemundo, her dance and acting career have taken her on sets of Sex and The City 2, and the Colbert Report. She most recently performed in a 2 person play at the Episcopal Actors Guild.
As a creative performance artist, Dorit is currently performing and recording her original music, writing solo shows, and enjoying musical improv classes through her scholarship at UCB.
